As we start the new year here in Southern Reserve, the social committee is looking for volunteers. Our first social event of the year is Easter. Please reach out to Tracy Russo (contact information is listed at the end). It’s quickly approaching and we will hate for you to miss out on the fun.
Your HOA Board sponsors events several times a year. We hope you have enjoyed some of these events with your family and neighbors.
In 2019, we held an Easter Egg Hunt (including an appearance from the Easter bunny), Pool Kickoff, 4th of July Potluck (with a fireworks show!) and the Fall Festival (our best event!). None of that would have been possible without our neighborhood support.
However; we need VOLUNTEERS to keep these events going. Most of our help comes from residents like you.
In order to plan our calendar this year, we need residents to sign up to help. For each event, we need planners who work in advance to help organize events and/or help the day of.
The more support we have, the less work this is for everyone. We don’t expect everyone to work every event, but we need six to 12 people to donate time per each event. One example is the Fall Festival (our largest event); we had more than two dozen people helping, we even had kids helping. It was an all - day event that took more than 60 days of planning and fundraising. If we are going to have another event of that size, we are going to need a lot of support.
If you are interested in helping in ANY way, please contact me directly.
Here is a list of tentative events for 2020:
Please note if you are interested in planning and/or working an event (s). We are willing to add more events if we have the support. We hope to keep the schedule above but as of now we don’t have enough volunteers. A few people will not be able to support our planned calendar of events.
I'm hoping everyone who is willing to put in time will contact me today (even for an event in the future). Southern Reserve is a great place to live and we want to celebrate that with all of you.
- You will want to use live fish for bait (shad or small carp)
- A wire leader to protect against their teeth breaking the line
- Once the Gar has taken the bait, you will need to wait a little to set the hook because they don't like the bait like bass. Apparently, they chew on it and swallow pieces.
