~ Neighborhood News ~
POOL REMINDER:
If you break the pool rules, or any covenants you could loose pool privileges. Your code will be turned off. This includes giving out your code to non home owners to use! All homeowners must be present at the pool with their guests.
Directory: emergency information needed.
Please take a minute to look at our neighborhood directory. Is your information up to date? And please take a minute to see if your neighbor is in the directory. If not please ask them to join. ( The reason i say this,,, There were some dog's that got out during the storm today (8-17-10) They were leaving the neighborhood . I called to them and they ran back into our neighborhood. They ran up to a few houses but finally went into someone’s back yard who's gate was open. I had to assume they belonged there. I went to look at the directory to call as no one was home and their home was not listed in the directory. This time it was just doggies... but please contact information in case of emergency is needed.
COMMITTEE NEWS:
Southern Reserve has three active committees (Landscape, Social, Pool). We are always looking for more volunteers to help out in our neighborhood. Just click on Committees and look at who to contact. We would love your help and ideas.
Check our site often:
I try to keep this site updated with current information. At the very least it is updated once a month with the YOM. Our facebook page has the very most up to date in the Neighborhood news and friendly Chat between Neighbors. So Check us out often to keep up on the news.
Street parking reminder:
As part of our signed, legal covenants we agreed not to park our personal cars in the street overnight. We also do not park and leave trailers or boats in our neighborhood. Just a reminder for those that are not following the rules of the road....
HOA MEETING:
The hoa meeting held at the church “New Spring” at 6:30 on April 27th was a big hit. We had a excellent turnout. Attending the meeting was City of Jenks Planning Director Robert Bell. He had some very valueable information. Please see our facebook page for meeting notes and topics.
Our next neighborhood garage sale will tie in with the City of Jenks city wide garage sale. The next date is pending in May of 2011.
Lawn Care Tip
Pre-Treatment time as come and gone. But treating your yard for weeds helps you cut your mowing time and stops the weeds from cutting into your homes value. Well maintained lawns with real grass holds and increases homes values. It is never to late to start. There are several professional companies that can help you with little cost or local hardware store can assist you in getting your yard in shape. Weeds grow faster than grass...
Doggie DUTY!:
It has been noticed that some of our homeowners are not picking up after their dog has done his business in the common areas. Remember our common areas is for everyone to enjoy. Not just dog owners and not just for them to do their business and walking off and leaving it behind. Please be a good neighbor and pick up after them.
Landscape committee:
The First YOM will be for month of April. (awarded at the first of May) Will your yard be YOM?
When the pool opens the Landscape committee meets at the pool clubhouse the second Friday of every month. Feel free to join us.
Reminders:
Please remember that we don't leave our personal cars on the street overnight and on park on curbs or lawns. We do not have trailers, boats, ect left in our neighborhood overnight. We use the driveway and garage for our autos. Trash cans need to be brought up from the curb, past the line of view, after the trash has been picked up and dumped.
Pool :
Pool season is upon us. The pool opens Memorial Day and Closes on Labor Day. If you are a new resident to Southern Reserve, you will need to contact Flora Peterson at the HOA to get a pool code mailed to you. It will work during the pool season. Note it will not work on Mondays as the pool is closed during that time. Only the Pool Party code will open the gate on the Monday that is reserved. (NOTE : you will have to enter your code and hit the # key for the code to be entered and work) If you would like to reserve the pool for a party you can email our Pool Committee Head Please remember to clean up any trash. And please no glass... The full list of rules can be found in the pool section.
Pool Furniture:
Please remember to take care of OUR pool furniture. If you see any abuse, report it. It cost's money out of our HOA dues to replace broken furniture. This in the end costs you. Please help us all by keeping a eye out and treating it like it belongs to you.
Tell your neighbor!
Our neighborhood is filling up fast! As our newbies move in, a great way to have a ice breaking topic to discuss, while introducing yourself, is this website. They need to sign up so they will be in our directory. Also the facebook site is a great way to do everyday type news and topics. But the first step is letting them know and where to find this site.
Tree Watering
Remember to water your trees. They need more water than your lawn. I see some dead ones already. They will need water even in the winter months as well. Until they establish a good root system which is about 2 to 3 years.
Noise Nuisance
Please be kind and respectful to your neighbors. By respecting proper times for loud outdoor noise. After 10 pm, 7 days a week, should be quiet time for loud radios, horns, ect. The park and pool should also be quiet after 10 pm. Residents live close by and loud games, honking horns and such cause issues. By respecting all of our neighbors, the Southern Reserve community will grow.
Facebook!
Our Neighborhood is on facebook. Just search for "Southern Reserve Neighborhood". It is a great way to have real time communication. It is a great place to have friendly chat and news between the neighbors. Any questions on how to join email Tony or Jeremy . Our email is listed in the directory.
